Four Mandolin Tunes from the Leake County Revelers and One from Scottdale String Band

I have just posted five mandolin tunes: four from the Leake County Revelers and one from the Scottdale String Band. The four from the Revelers are as follows:

  • Birds in the Brook (Schottishe)
  • Georgia Camp Meeting (Rag)
  • Good Fellow (Song with both mandolin and fiddle parts)
  • Put Me in My Little Bed

These four tunes can be found in the Leake County Revelers Collection. Incidentally, this completes the Revelers’ collection, unless more material surfaces.

The Scottdale String Band tune I posted is Carbolic Rag. It can be found in the Deep South Collection.

Happy fiddling!

Five Songs with Fiddle Lead from the Leake County Revelers

I have just posted five fiddle lead transcriptions of Leake County Revelers songs:

  • I’m Gwine Back to Dixie
  • Listen to the Mockingbird
  • They Go Wild, Simply Wild, Over Me
  • Uncle Ned
  • Where the Silv’ry Colorado Wends Its Way

All of these can be found in the Leake County Revelers Collection. After this, there are only four more tunes from the Leake County Revelers to post, all of which feature mandolin lead. I hope to post those next week.

Happy fiddling!

Ten Leake County Revelers Tunes

I have just posted ten tunes to the Leake County Revelers Collection. As of this update, there are now more than 500 transcriptions on DrFiddle.com!

  • Been to the East, Been to the West
  • Bring Me a Bottle (Jenny Lind)
  • Johnson Gal
  • Lazy Kate
  • Make Me a Bed on the Floor
  • Molly Put the Kettle On
  • Monkey in the Dog Cart
  • The Old Hat
  • Saturday Night Breakdown
  • Texas Fair

Most of these tunes are breakdowns, but Bring Me a Bottle is a polka (though the Revelers played it more like a breakdown) and Make Me a Bed on the Floor is a rag.

Happy fiddling!
