Moore’s renditions of all of these rags are outstanding. They may be found in the Gary Lee Moore Collection.

Six Gary Lee Moore Waltzes

I have just posted six waltz transcriptions from Oklahoma fiddler Gary Lee Moore:

  • Alice Blue Gown
  • Benny and Bea’s Waltzes
  • Dubree Waltz
  • Rose of My Heart
  • Rose of Sharon
  • When I Grow Too Old to Dream

All of these waltzes can be found in the Gary Lee Moore Collection. These are all very challenging waltzes, with exceedingly tricky timing. I highly recommend listening to the recordings (all of which can be found here) while looking at the transcriptions to get a feel for the timing.

Five Versions of Forked Deer

I have just posted five versions of the old time standard Forked Deer from the following fiddlers:

  • Ed Haley
  • Clark Kessinger
  • Gary Lee Moore
  • Benny Thomasson
  • Melvin Wine

All of these may be found in the Forked Deer Collection. Fans of Texas Contest-style fiddling will be especially interested in the versions from Thomasson and Moore. I really like Moore’s jazzy version.

Happy fiddling!
