Comments:

This version of Mississippi Breakdown was recorded by the duo Narmour and Smith from Carroll County, Mississippi, with William Thomas Narmour on the fiddle. It is rather different from the versions by the Leake County Revelers and the Mississippi Possum Hunters, but like those, it shouldn't be rushed. I must say that I like this version the best of the three that I have transcribed. In the book Country Music Originals: The Legends and the Lost, Tony Russel states regarding Narmour and Smith's music that "the effect [...] can be hypnotic." Play through this transcription several times, and I think you'll agree.
