This is the first jig I have posted.  I never really expected to post any, as I had never encountered any jigs in old time music.  But, sure enough, Doc Roberts recorded this one (and there are also field recordings of Melvin Wine playing this jig, among others).  The Irish Washerwoman has always been the stereotypical Irish tune in my mind, but that doesn't diminish the value of the tune.  Assuming you are familiar with jig fiddling, the only challenges here are the high C#s (an artifact of playing it in A).  Doc Roberts recorded this as the last tune in a medley, preceeded by Leather Britches and Big Eared Mule.
