Comments:

Here is a nice waltz from Kentucky fiddler J. P. Fraley. The trickiest thing about this tune is the syncopation, which resulted in an ugly transcription for such a pretty waltz. The title probably refers to either the community of Blackhawk, Kentucky or Blackhawk, West Virginia, but Black Hawk as an Indian name predates those settlements.
