West Virginia fiddler Clark Kessinger played a really nice version of Cripple Creek, which he called Going Up Brushy Fork. He played it in three parts. The A part is always four lines. The B part is usually three lines, but sometimes two. The two-line C part utilizes pizzicato. Whenever there are slides up to a C#, start on, and make sure to emphasize, the C-natural. This isn’t a difficult arrangement, but can be difficult to play cleanly at speed.
