This is an unusual setting of Bill Cheatum from West Virginia fiddler Melvin Wine. This tune is usually found in A, but Wine played the two parts in different keys: G for the A part, and D for the B part. He credited the arrangement to his father, saying “this is the way my dad used to play this tune. This is the way he played Bill Cheatum." Wine bowed this very aggressively, using a good bit of the Georgia Shuffle bowing pattern.
