The transcription starts with what I have called the second time through the tune. In truth, I don’t know which repetition it was, as the source recording I transcribed was garbled in the beginning. I started the transcription at the first clean repetition of the tune.

The A part follows a regular pattern and is relatively consistent across repetitions. The B part, however, is a different story. It’s not just crooked, it’s downright arrhythmic. I don’t know if this was intentional or a consequence of not playing with rhythmic accompaniment, but it sure made The Old Frying Pan a bear to transcribe.

Cross-tune to AEAE.
