Comments:

This is an incredible version of Jack of Diamonds from Gary Lee Moore. I found it on YouTube, and hesitated about transcribing it because the guitar is so loud that it nearly drowns out the fiddle in the recording. I’m glad I did transcribe it, though, as Moore’s fiddling is too good to pass up.

This tune reminds me of the well-known Irish reel The Mason’s Apron. Moore plays some really nice variations here. Look out for accidentals and syncopation, including a delicious slow triplet in the B part the first time through the tune. Unfortunately, the recording cuts off a little ways into the B part the fourth time through. That’s a pity, because Moore was playing some interesting stuff.
