In the recording, Carson actually played this tune twice: at the beginning, and at the end, with some dialogue in the middle. The dialog was intended to be humorous, but modern audiences might not find it very funny. Carson used the same pickup notes and ending both times he played the tune. Each repetition consists of two parts with two lines each (except for the fifth repetition, wherein the A part is repeated). The only irregularities occur in the last line of the third and eighth repetitions, both of which lead into endings.
