Comments:

The Eminence in the title of this tune refers to Eminence, MO in the Ozark mountains, where Gene Goforth was born. The Fiddler’s Companion traces the melody back to the Irish tune Merry Blacksmith. The tune itself is fairly simple, but the A part is crooked (it has an extra measure on each line). On all slides up to an F# on the first string, stop somewhere between the F and the F# to give it a somewhat bluesy feel.
