Although I have notated the whole piece in A mixolydian, the A part of Grandmammy actually dances between A mixolydian and A minor. This is due to the presence of both C-naturals and C-sharps, some of which are not consistent between lines and repetitions. Goforth played the tune in three parts, with the B and C parts crooked. The C part contains passages where you will have to hold an A on the third string while playing melody on the second string.   You will also find some potentially difficult double-stops throughout the tune.
