West Virginia fiddler Clark Kessinger gave the southern national anthem a nice ragtime treatment in the key of C. I’ve only ever heard it fiddled in G or D before. This setting isn’t as complex as some of the others I’ve transcribed, but it’s still quite nice. There is relative little melodic variation, but a good bit of variation in the syncopation. Kessinger used vibrato on some notes that are held for multiple beats. This is denoted by squiggly lines to the left of notes in the transcription that are to be played vibrato.
