Local fiddlers in North Alabama

This arrangement of Forked Deer is suitable for beginners. The A part is in the key of D and the B part is in A (what my friend and excellent fiddler Jim Holland calls a genetic tune). In this simple arrangement, the B part is just the A part shifted up a fifth. There are more interesting versions out there; maybe I'll learn one someday. This is a good tune on which to experiment with different bowing patterns.
