This is not the waltz-time tune commonly known as Drunkard’s Hiccups (Rye Whiskey, Jack of Diamonds, etc.). Rather, this setting is more of a breakdown, though I considered classifying it as a novelty tune. As with the other, more widespread setting of Drunkard, this one features an extended pizzicato passage. Note that pizzicato and bowed notes are interleaved, sometimes within the same beat. Many of the double-stops appear to be more difficult than they really are, because this tune is played in the AEAC# tuning. Also note that the B part is crooked. I’m not 100% confident in my transcription, as the fiddle was often barely audible in the recording over the organ and percussion.

Tune to AEAC#.
