Comments:

The Fiddler’s Companion reports that Petronella originated in Scotland, and is named after a 16th or 17th century firearm called a petronel.  Douglas played a deliciously crooked version of this old standard.  I notated some notes and chords as tenuto (a little bar above or below the note).  These should be played in the same bowstroke as the previous note; just give the bow a little pulse to make it distinct.
