Comments:

Herman’s Rag is perhaps not as difficult as many of Thomasson’s other rags, but it is still quite a challenge.  Thomasson played this piece three times through, with only slight variation in the A part.  There are two distinct variations on the B part, one of which appears the first and third times through the tune.  The other variant of the B part, which goes up to a high E, appears the second time through the tune.  There are a lot of accidentals, as well as a great many triplets, sixteenth notes, and triplets over sixteenth notes.  Thomasson also used a little bit of vibrato, which is denoted in the transcription by a squiggly line to the left of notes to be played vibrato.
